The meeting began with the Dean’s update on recent improvements in the College that include ongoing building renovations, changes in administrative positions, and a renewed emphasis on excellence in service to students and patients.

Other topics included establishing a college-wide “high performance, high accountability culture” that incorporates a shared vision among the members of the College community, professional accountability, and effective leadership. Additional information was presented on the Strategic Plan, as well as changes that have been implemented in accordance with the recommendations of the (2008) External Review Committee.

Dean Anderson also commented on the College's highly qualified students whose academic credentials make them outstanding members of the University community. Other discussion included the contributions made by the College of Dentistry that support Ohio State's overarching goals, which include President Gee's emphasis on putting "Students First," and working together as "One University."
