Student Receives Scholarship Award from Pierre Fauchard Academy
Stephen Webster, a fourth-year dental student, received the 2011 Foundation Dental Student Scholarship Award from the Foundation of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, given in the amount of $1,500.
This international honorary dental society focuses on influencing the dentistry profession by recognizing the highest levels of achievement as demonstrated by professional excellence, integrity, and ethical behavior.
“I enjoy being involved in student leadership and being able to help address my classmates' issues,” Webster said. “Receiving an award for something I enjoy doing made it that much more satisfying.”
The award is presented to students who have demonstrated the greatest potential for developing into outstanding leaders in the dental profession. Webster is currently the D4 class president, and was the D3 class president during the 2010-2011 academic year. He has served as an ambassador and as an interviewer at admissions events for the last three years.
“I hope this award and others will encourage students to become involved, whether as leaders or participants, and to advocate for students to make the College of Dentistry a better place,” Webster said.
