Faculty Practice Information
Our faculty are dentists who have additional education in the
specialty of periodontics (gum treatments). They are carefully
chosen from many periodontists (gum doctors) from across the nation
and are held to the highest standard. These periodontists are at the
forefront of innovative techniques and products and are on the
cutting edge of patient care because they work in both a clinical
and academic setting. Moreover, they are able to provide patients
with the widest range of periodontal services which is supported by
the latest knowledge and research in one of the nation’s foremost
universities. Therefore, focus is placed on the best, most
up-to-date treatment available in a pleasant and caring environment.
We are the people who teach dentists at The Ohio State University to
become the periodontists that ultimately practice in the State of
Ohio. The periodontal faculty who provide patient care are: Dr.
Binnaz Leblebicioglu (Leblebicioglu.1@osu.edu), Dr. Angelo Mariotti
(mariotti.3@osu.edu), and Dr. John Walters (walters.2@osu.edu).
Periodontal Procedures
The periodontal faculty offer a full range of periodontal procedures
which include scaling and root planing (deep scaling), soft tissue
grafting (gum grafts), bone grafting (to reverse periodontal
disease), implant surgery (for the replacement of teeth) and a wide
variety of other periodontal procedures.
The Ohio State University
Dental Faculty Practice Association accepts many different types
of dental insurance, which reduce patient out-of-pocket costs.
